Shivratri Special Thandai

Ingredients required

Milk: Full Fat, Low Fat, Or Skim Milk, Any milk would do, but full-fat milk will give you a thick creamy texture.

Spices- cardamom, black peppercorn, fennel, saffron, etc. go into this drink.

Dryfruits- Almonds, Cashew Nuts, pistachio kernels, poppy seeds, melon seeds, raisins

Other Ingredients – Sugar, Rose Water

Procedure to follow:

  • Soak cashew nuts, almonds, black peppercorns, raisins, poppy seeds, cardamom, fennel seeds, and melon seeds in ½ cup water for 5-6 hours.
  • Grind the soaked ingredients to make a smooth paste in a blender.
  • Add Milk
  • Pass the mixture through a soup strainer.
  • Add saffron, sugar, and rose water and mix till sugar is dissolved.

Pour the thandai into serving glasses.
Garnish rose petals and dry fruit slivers on top.
Serve chilled.
